There is only one company operating ferry services from Plymouth, Brittany Ferries. The company has two routes available from Plymouth, to Roscoff and Santander.

Associated British Ports

Brittany Ferries offers the choice of two destinations from Plymouth Port. From mid-March until mid-November, you can travel to Roscoff, France.


Total journey time is about 6 hours during the day or 8 hours overnight. Up to three sailings per day are offered from Plymouth.

The other route is to Santander, Spain. This service runs all year with the journey time approximately 20 hours, 30 minutes. The ferry leaves twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays.

There are two ships that sail to Roscoff. The Pont-Aven is a luxurious liner that has room for up to 2,500 passengers and 650 cars. Amenities on board include a pool, bureau de change, leisure room, cinemas, restaurant, several bars, slot machines and a children's playroom.

The other ship is the Pont L'Abbé, which can hold up to 1,200 passengers and 410 cars. This ocean liner has a restaurant, two cinemas, a gift shop, a games room, a bureau de change and two bars available for its passengers.

The Pont-Aven also sails to Santander. Both vessels are suitable for the physically disabled.
